Chapter Two is about the grammar used to communicate about past time events. This chapter focuses on past tense verbs and past time adverbs.  The materials are put into context to help you learn to use the grammar for your own communication.

This grammar is used in biography, history, autobiography, literature, and other communiation where we tell a story. A story can be used to entertain, but often a story is given as an example to illustrate or prove a point. Here on the web, you can practice the grammar required by this type of communication.

For more information about the grammar and for discussion activities, pair and small group activities, and activities that focus on the writing and editing of past time writing, please see the printed version of Applied English Grammar
