Gerunds and Infinitives

Verbs can be used as nouns either by being changed to gerunds (by adding -ing) or to infinitives (by adding to). If the subject of a sentence is a gerund or an infinitive, the present tense form of the verb adds -s. See Chapter Sixteen in the book for more information on gerunds and infinitives.
