Practice with Verb+Prepositions
|
| This crossword puzzle gives you practice with verbs that usually need a particular preposition. These are phrases such as work for or marry to. You need to learn the verb+preposition as a set rather than trying to figure out the meaning of individual prepositions. In the puzzle, you write the verb+preposition without a space between them. But, of course, when you use these phrases in written English you will put a space between the words. This practice is designed to help you start to think about the verb and its preposition as close companions that often are found together. |
